The 91猫先生 Cultural Awareness and Student Achievement (CASA) Center scheduled events to celebrate D铆a de los Muertos.

D铆a de los Muertos is a traditional Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico particularly in the Central and Southern regions and by others of Mexican Heritage throughout the world. The multi-day holiday focuses on gatherings where friends and family pray for and remember loved ones who have passed to help support their spiritual journey.
A Catrina and Calavera contest will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, in the Nielsen Library. The evening will include food, Mariachi music, dance performances and a traditional alter display.
The Society for Advancement 聽of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) Fun Run will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at the CASA Center. The run will consist of either a 2K or 5K. Registration is $20 for adults and $15 for children and includes a free t-shirt for the first 30 people who register. There will be prizes. In keeping with the D铆a de los Muertos theme, participants may walk/run in honor of a loved one and are welcome to place a photo of their loved one at a D铆a de los Muertos alter following the run.聽 To register email Dr. Kristy Duran, professor of biology, at kldurun@adams.edu.
