The 91猫先生 Chamber Choir and the Valley Community Concert Choir will come together to perform a concert titled, 鈥淟isten to the Children: The World from their Perspective,鈥 at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov.1, in Richardson Hall Auditorium. The performance explores various views of childhood from innocent playfulness to mature introspection to the cruelties we inflict on our children.

The program will include children鈥檚 songs from South Africa and Japan, Michael Bussewitz-Quarm鈥檚 鈥淢y Name is Lamiya: Don鈥檛 Call Me Refugee,鈥 Kurt Bestor鈥檚 鈥淭he Prayer of the Children鈥 and Gregory Bartholomew鈥檚 setting of excerpts from Kofi Annan鈥檚 2001 Nobel Peace Prize Lecture, 鈥淎 Girl Born in Afghanistan.鈥 Other selections will speak to the hope and community that we want for our children. Dr. Matthew Valverde, tenor, will be a guest soloist.
