The聽Colorado Potato Administrative Committee recently established a new scholarship for 91猫先生 students majoring in Agribusiness or STEM fields:聽Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Math, and Mechanical Engineering. The聽 Committee will award $7,000 a year, which may be split between multiple recipients, according to Jessica Bradshaw, assistant director of the Colorado Potato Administrative Committee. She is a valley native and 2017 graduate of Adams State.
To qualify for the scholarship, students must be registered full-time and have a minimum GPA of 2.75. They must be at least a sophomore during the award year (Mechanical Engineering majors must be a sophomore during the award year.)
Since 1946, the Committee has funded scholarships for the Adams State Spud Bowl queen and court. That was discontinued due to changes in federal regulations.
鈥淲e thought this was a good time to revamp our scholarship. Adams State is very important to the San Luis Valley and the potato industry as a whole. So we designated the scholarship for students in degree areas that can support local agricultural,鈥 Bradshaw explained. 鈥淲e have a really good working relationship with Adams State and support it as much as we can. We are a sponsor for the Grizzly Club, and we currently have an Adams State student intern.鈥
