Chayan Lahiri, Ph.D., assistant professor of geoscience, co-authored an article, 鈥Assessment of cropland inundation due to the operation of the Reelfoot Lake spillway in West Tennessee,鈥 that was published in the Journal of the American Water Resources Association, (JAWRA) in December 2022 with the US Geological Survey and West TN River Basin Authority.

Rena Kirkland, Ph.D., associate professor of psychology, published a meta-analysis showing that yoga reduces depression symptoms. 鈥The benefits of yoga as an intervention for depression: A meta鈥揳nalysis,鈥 was published in the International Journal of Complementary & Alternative Medicine. Co-authors included: Michael Rhoads, Nels Grevstad, Madison Barber, Shannon Myers, and Traci Lundstrom.

Kieran C. Nduagbo, Ph.D., assistant professor of teacher education and field service coordinator, and Carolyn Casale, Ph.D., will have an article 鈥Preservice Teachers鈥 Reflective Practices, Self-efficacy, and Professional Growth,鈥 published in Experiential聽Learning and Teaching in Higher Education聽Journal. Colleen Schaffner, PhD., director School of Humanities & Social Sciences and chair Department of Psychology, received a $5,000 Adams State Innovation Fund grant for Recruitment Advertising for Programs in the School of Humanities and Social Science. Dr. Schaffner co-authored, 鈥Mother-Infant Relationships and Infant Independence in Wild Geoffroy鈥檚 Spider Monkeys (Ateles geoffroyi),鈥 which was published in the 2022 Vol. 136 No. 4 Journal of Comparative Psychology.

Brian Zulega, Ph.D., professor of sport psychology and chair of the applied sport psychology graduate program, delivered his address 鈥To and Through the Coach: How Coaches Can Utilize Mental Training in Practice & Competition,鈥 at the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Convention in Denver Dec. 15.
