In July David Bertolatis, Ph.D., assistant professor of biology, attended a conference for grantees of the Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program in Long Beach, Calif. He presented a poster of his research on risk assessment for complex mixtures of “forever chemicals” known as Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS).
Lucas Alan Dietsche, Ph.D.,聽Prison Education Program adjunct professor, published the book 鈥淵lang-Ylang Socialism:聽Ali Soilihi, Maoism, and Socialist Comoros聽1975-1978鈥 this October and presenting published work聽鈥淩esisting Carceralizing (s)places through the Prisoner Zines: The Signification, index, and shifting through Adorno, Krauss, and Piepmeier鈥 for the SECAC, formerly the Southeastern College Art Conference, 2025 session Wide-Awakeness in the Arts Classroom: Cultivating Imagination and Innovation in Art Education in Cincinnati, Ohio, October 22 through 25.

For over two years, Tony Guntren, M.F.A., assistant professor of art and gallery director, worked with Adams State sculpture students and Centauri High School students creating bronze sculptures to be installed at Lobatos Bridge. The Lobatos Bridge outdoor classroom was sponsored by the Bureau of Land Management and the Great Outdoors Fund. A to commemorate the completion of the project was held September 26.
On a personal note: Director of the Center for Teaching, Innovation, and Research Artemis Preeshl, Ed.D., registered to participate in sessions at the Shakespeare Association of America in Denver and the World Shakespeare Congress in Verona in 2026.
AJ Webb, DHSc, assistant professor NTT of management, earned a Doctor of Health Science (DHSc), with a聽concentration in organizational behavior and leadership, a blend of health science and healthcare administration. He studied at A.T. Still University in the College of Graduate Health. Dr. Webb graduated with honors after five years. His final project is titled:聽鈥淎ssessing an Institute of Higher Education鈥檚 Employee Population Health to Inform Worksite Health Promotion Program Strategic Planning.鈥
